The award-nominated Outdoor Festival of Fitness, Hackney Moves, that included the sold-out Hackney Half (London’s largest half marathon) and Hackney 5K, was due to take place on 15th – 17th May 2020 but was unfortunately postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
To keep the community moving together virtually and raise vital funds for the NHS, we assisted Virgin Sport in the launch of ‘Hackney Moves For Heroes’. A solo running challenge that encouraged people to run a virtual 5K or half marathon and fundraise for the Homerton Hospital NHS Hospital Trust, Homerton Hope, among other charity partners impacted by COVID-19.
A targeted PR campaign to reach the local Hackney and London running communities saw us secure editorial coverage in key London regional media outlets and sports publications, such as Runner’s World, BBC London Radio, RUN247, Hackney Post, Hackney Gazette, East London Lines, and London Post.
