We supported the launch of the Weetabix Protein Youth Challenge.

Virgin Sport, in partnership with ASICS London 10K and Weetabix Protein, launched a virtual nationwide running initiative to encourage children and families to get active during the unprecedented Covid-19 lockdown.

This initiative saw 4,000 children (aged 16 and under) run their very own 10-kilometre race across a 10 week period, for the chance to win an exclusive Weetabix Protein ASICS finisher t-shirt and medal.

For every runner that signed up to take on the challenge, one Weetabix ‘On The Go’ Protein breakfast drink was donated to FareShare.

During the 10 week challenge, Virgin Sport hosted FREE weekly virtual family fitness sessions, led by one of the UK’s top personal trainers, Faisal Abdalla aka Mr PMA!

Elite ASICS athletes, ambassadors and special guests shared their motivational tips. These included double Olympic 5000m runner Eilish McColgan and British tennis player Harriet Dart.

*FareShare is the UK’s longest-running food redistribution charity. Its emergency coronavirus response distributes food and drinks to vulnerable people. Provided via its network of more than 11,000 charities and community groups across the UK. Fareshare safely delivers meals to people facing financial hardship, older people, and those with serious illnesses who are self-isolating.
